The town lies on both banks of the Jihlava river. T\u0159eb\u00ed\u010d dates back to 1101, when a benedictine monastery was built here at the instigation of Moravian dukes Ulrich of Brno and Luitpold of Znojmo.<\/p>\n<p>In 2003, St Procopius\u2019 Basilica, Jewish Quarter and the old Jewish cemetery became UNESCO world heritage sites. T\u0159eb\u00ed\u010d was thus the 12th UNECO world heritage site in the Czech Republic. When walking the crooked alleys of the former Jewish ghetto, do not forget to visit the Rear Synagogue, where a model of the Jewish Quarter in 1850 can be seen. There is a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kudyznudy.cz\/Aktivity-a-akce\/Aktivity\/Zidovske-muzeum---dum-Seligmanna-Bauera-Trebic.aspx#5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jewish museum<\/a> in the adjoining House of Seligman Bauer.<\/p>\n<p>T\u0159eb\u00ed\u010d castle houses the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.muzeumtr.cz\/en\/\">Museum of Vyso\u010dina<\/a> where you can visit four permanent exhibitions: \u02bbSv\u011bt ne\u017eiv\u00e9 p\u0159\u00edrody\u02bc (World of Geology), \u02bbSv\u011bt port\u00e1l\u016f a bran\u02bc (World of Portals and Gates), \u02bbVald\u0161t\u011bjnov\u00e9 na T\u0159eb\u00ed\u010di\u02bc (The House of Waldstein in T\u0159eb\u00ed\u010d), and \u02bbLid\u00e9. During the summer, you can also visit the outdoor <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bazenpolanka.cz\/\">swimming pool Polanka<\/a>. The original \u02bbriver spa\u02bc (where today\u2019s swimming pool is located) was designed by architect Bohuslav Fuchs. Other sports facilities that can be found in T\u0159eb\u00ed\u010d include tennis courts, squash courts, badminton courts, bowling alleys, beach volleyball courts and a rope centre. A modern fitness centre (offering <a href=\"http:\/\/www.alpinning-trebic.cz\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">the ALPINNING\u2122 programme<\/a>, ) is located directly in the hotel building as well as facilities for jumping and fit box.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=&#8221;20px&#8221;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"odelovac\">CULTURE<\/h4>\n<p>The town enjoys a rich cultural life throughout the entire year. The music festival <a href=\"http:\/\/www.zamosti.cz\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Z\u00e1most\u00ed<\/a>, is held annually at the beginning of June; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.samajim.cz\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">\u0160amajim\u00a0<\/a> a Jewish culture festival, takes place during the summer.
